Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Dar Es Salaam Upon arrival at Dar Airport, you will be met by your personal driver guide and transferred to your accommodation for relaxation, dinner, and overnight stay. Accommodation: Sea Cliff Hotel
Day 2: Dar Es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve + Boat Ride After breakfast, depart from Dar Es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve to begin your safari. Selous, covering 55,000 sq km, is almost twice the size of Belgium and four times larger than the Serengeti. Enjoy a boat safari guided by a local boatman, offering close encounters with hippos, crocodiles, and water birds. After lunch at the camp, embark on an afternoon game drive along the Rufiji River, home to a large concentration of wildlife. Accommodation: Selous Kulinda Camp
Day 3: Full Day at Selous Game Reserve Spend the day on a full-day game drive in Selous. This World Heritage Site offers a truly wild and unspoiled safari experience. The park’s diverse landscapes include grassy woodlands, plains, and rocky outcrops. Selous is home to one-third of the world's wild dogs. After lunch, continue exploring the park’s abundant wildlife, especially along the Rufiji River and Lake Tagalala. Return to the lodge for dinner and rest. Accommodation: Selous Kulinda Camp
Day 4: Selous to Mikumi National Park After breakfast, travel to Mikumi National Park with your Safari Driver Guide. Mikumi, the closest park to Dar es Salaam, benefits from high game density due to its proximity to Selous. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant en route, then continue to Mikumi for an afternoon game drive. Accommodation: Camp Bastian
Day 5: Full Day at Mikumi After breakfast, enjoy a full day of game drives in Mikumi National Park, known for its diverse wildlife, including lions, elephants, giraffes, and various antelope species. Have a packed lunch in the park’s scenic surroundings. Accommodation: Camp Bastian
Day 6: Mikumi to Udzungwa Mountains National Park After breakfast, visit the nearby waterfall in Udzungwa National Park, a paradise for hikers and nature enthusiasts. Hike to the Sanje River Waterfall, which drops 170 meters into the valley. Udzungwa supports a diverse mammal community and is home to several endemic species. After the hike, return to the lodge for lunch and continue with an afternoon game drive. Accommodation: Udzungwa Falls Lodge
Day 7: Udzungwa Mountains National Park to Dar Es Salaam After breakfast, depart from the camp and drive back to Dar Es Salaam, arriving in time for dinner and overnight stay.
