Highlights of the Tour

Itinerary

You will be picked up from the airport by a Team Guide Africa representative and conveyed to your accommodation in Arusha where you will overnight, relax, and prepare in anticipation of the adventures to come.

Pick up and drive further through the Masai Steppe via Makuyuni Junction and over down to the Tarangire National Park. Full day game drive in Tarangire National Park. Tarangire has a diverse landscape, with nine vegetation zones. Ancient Baobab trees (the largest trees in Africa) dot the landscape dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. The Tarangire River, that meanders through the park attracts an abundance of wildlife, from elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, zebras, giraffes, antelopes to a variety of colorful birds. The park is very famous for having the greatest elephant population in Tanzania, and during a safari there you will have the chance of quietly observing many families of elephants interacting. With a stop for a picnic lunch in an observatory inside the park where you will be able to view animals drinking water in the river (and many times lions attacking a thirsty zebra or wildebeest), continue game viewing and finally return to campsite for dinner   Main Destination: Tarangire National Park Accommodation: Mid-range lodge located in Karatu (Town) Meals & Drinks: All meals included All drinks (Except for spirits/liquor)

After an early breakfast, depart towards the most famous National Park in the World, the Serengeti. The driving itself, although long, is spectacular. You will drive up the crater highlands, making a quick stop at the rim for an out of this world view of Ngorongoro Crater. This will be an unforgettable moment for anyone seeing it for the first time. As you progress well into the Serengeti, you will see why the name means, in local language, "endless plains". The park has 6,900 sq. mile (18,000 sq. km) and for most of it, the plains will stretch to the horizon defying your senses and perception of distances. It is the home of the Great Migration and to 2 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras and all kinds of antelopes including the abundant impalas and Thomson's gazelles. As for Big Cats and large predators, it's the place of choice to look out for lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, with many television scenes like the famous river crossings having been filmed in this park. Smaller animals like foxes, mongoose, honey badgers, jackals, monkeys, baboons, rock hyrax and African hares, together with more than 500 species of birds, also inhabit this park. Dinner and overnight   Main Destination: Central Serengeti National Park Accommodation: Mid-range lodge located inside Central Serengeti N Meals & Drinks: All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)

On this day you can wake up early for a sunrise game drive to try and catch up with the rare nocturnal animal species as well as the early risers among the diurnal ones. It is a nice time to see animals within a close distance as most game like to line up at the road sides to escape the morning dew. After breakfast at your camp, you will then spend the day doing game drives for the whole day within the Serengeti National Park. The name Serengeti comes from a Maasai word ‘Siringit’ meaning plains without end and true to the name you will explore vast stretches of African Savannah in search of the many animals that Serengeti has to offer. Apart from the wildebeests you expect to spot other animals including elephants, lions, cheetahs, the elusive leopards, zebras, elands and a lot of resident and migratory birds.   Main Destination: Central Serengeti National Park Accommodation: Mid-range lodge located inside Central Serengeti N Meals & Drinks: All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)

After Breakfast at lodge then we check out and head out for one more last game drive in the Serengeti. You will explore the Seronera River Valley rich in wildlife and bird life or anywhere else in the Serengeti as per your professional safari guide’s guidance. Your safari guide as usual will be in constant contact with other guides around through the VHF high frequency radios fitted in our safari cars so he will have a better idea on the best places to explore. Later in the afternoon you will drive back to the Ngorongoro Conservation area and check in at a lodge for dinner and overnight. Main Destination: Ngorongoro Highlands Accommodation: Mid-range lodge located on the crater rim of Ngorongoro Crater Meals & Drinks: All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)

Breakfast at your lodge you will descend early into the Crater floor for game drives in the Ngorongoro Crater. The earlier you descend to the Crater floor so you may descend after breakfast or even with a packed breakfast in order to be at the Crater floor as early as you can and better your chances of seeing the rare animals like Black Rhinos with a little luck. Spend the better part of the morning exploring the Ngorongoro Crater until lunch time. Ngorongoro Crater with its 600- to 650-meter-high walls is like a natural zoo with the highest concentration of wild animals and it is here where you can even spot the Big Five even in one day if lucky enough. After picnic lunch which you will most likely take at the hippo poolside designated picnic site, you will drive up the Crater rim and out of the Conservation area. You will return to Arusha where you will arrive later or airports. Main Destination: Ngorongoro Crater Accommodation: No accommodation (End of tour) Meals & Drinks: All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)   End of tour  Additional accommodation can be arranged for an extra cost.
